Martha Beck once said, the way we describe our home is how we describe our psyche. I couldn’t agree more. I believe the outer is a reflection of the inner and vice versa.
This is why I love and am so passionate about physical space.
Our home can either support our vision and emotional wellbeing or can hinder us.
The great news is that once we’re aware of this it’s really easy to shift things. Something I talk a lot about is white space. After we declutter and clear out I recommend leaving white space in the home- in each room, even in drawers and closets. White space is magical. Clutter and stuff blocks any openings, any new experiences and people, whereas white space opens you up to the unexpected, to possibilities and to something new.
Cleaning up the home is the fastest way to shift your reality. It has the ability to move the energy. Imagine being able to move from chaos to clarity or from overwhelm to movement. The home is a physical representation of our inner landscape. That’s why I’m so excited to have Katy Wells, a decluttering expert on the podcast this week. She shares her own story and gives us simple ways to start declutter our home and our life.
This is a topic I love talking about. And so if you’re like me, you’re gonna love this episode and if you want even more inspiration be sure to check out Katy’s podcast, The Maximized Minimalist. I was a guest on episode 8 – You can listen here.
You’ll hear me share my own personal experience and what led me to be so passionate about our home and physical environment. I share how cleaning out a closet literally changed the trajectory of my life. It’s what led me to leave my job, sell my house, move to Italy and begin coaching full time. It’s a powerful story and my intention is to educate others on the importance of our physical space. It’s truly a reflection and by making simple changes we can change our lives.
And if you want even more, I recorded a very short video with with 5 simple tips to start applying today to declutter and freshen one room in your home. Here’s the link.
Now, I’d LOVE to hear from you. After you listen take a screenshot and tag Katy and me on social media and tell us your biggest insights from this episode. We learn together and grow together. Help us to get this message about and share with others the importance of our home and how it can support our vision and our life.
Have a beautiful week and I’ll see you on the next episode.
